Jean Zeiler has over 25 years of experience as an attorney, and focuses her practice on employment law, including claims for discrimination and wage violations. She represents individuals in all types of discrimination, including on the basis of sex, age, race, disability, sexual harassment, and illegal retaliation. Her practice also focuses on claims for unpaid wages, overtime, tips, and commissions, and reviewing severance agreements. With a background in labor law, she counsels unions and individuals on collective bargaining and rights at the workplace. Her focus is on finding thoughtful and effective solutions for individuals and employers to move forward in their professional lives.
Jean served as General Counsel of the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards, where she managed the minimum wage and prevailing wage programs, and provided legal advice for multiple other programs, including health and safety, apprentice standards, and staffing agency requirements. Prior to joining the Commonwealth workforce, Jean served as General Counsel/Deputy General Counsel for a nationwide union, representing federal, state, municipal, and private sector workers in arbitration and at numerous agencies, including the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations and the National Labor Relations Board.
Jean handles cases at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, EEOC, and in Massachusetts District and Superior Courts. She will work hard to obtain a beneficial settlement for a client and will vigorously pursue a case through litigation when settlement is not possible.
